As much as we love the gorgeous interface and the multi touch screen, we still can't recommend it whole heartedly. The cons completely outweigh the pros-and the biggest of them all is the massively ambitious pricing. Also, let's compare talk plans. Airtel includes a free monthly data usage of 500 MB & a charge of Rs 0.30 per 50kb at the end of the usage limit. The iPhone can be used with any Airtel SIM, hence locking it to the network. The Airtel offer seems better at first, but see if there's a catch. Vodafone plans include no lock in, but they will give you a special SIM. The phone will only work with that one SIM. Even other Vodafone SIMs will not work. Hence, it is not a network lock but a SIM lock. Finally, at the time of going to press, there have been unconfirmed reports of a price drop, given the lack-luster sales. We're expecting it to drop down to about 25k for the 8GB version, so best hold out a little while for that if you're still keen.
