1. Because of the nature of their construction, plasmas can render blacks far more effectively than the average LCD. So even a low-end plasma will look as good as a high-end LCD TV when it comes to black levels and contrast ratio. 2. The phosphor coating on the inside of a plasma means that it approximates the color and 'feel' of the standarc CRT television better. You shouldn't mock this, because it's a 'feel' that all of us have grown up on. Many users may still find the LCD's sharp images a little unreal.
