After a hiatus of almost an year, Creative has now come up with the Zen X-Fi, which, though not the best looking PMP around, is certainly one of the best from Creative. It has everything that a new-gen media player boasts of-FM, video player, image viewer, onboard memory of 8 GB, and even a built-in speaker. You can even sync the Microsoft Outlook contacts, tasks and to do notes onto your device. The only things missing are TV out and direct recording; though those features are only available in larger, high-end, HDD-based PMPs. Creative's very own X-Fi Crystallizer technology is one of the highlights of this device. This technology makes music and movies sound better by restoring portions of sound that get lost during compression or digitization. The resultant sound though, may not be to everyone's liking. Vocals were enhanced with this feature on, but the melody gets lost. I enjoyed my music the most when this feature was turned off.
