摘要

The latest iteration of Internet Protocol, IPv6, brings more speed, more security and improved QoS to data and voice networks. It also heightens the risk that the United States, already a second-tier Internet player, will be bypassed by countries that adopt the standard more quickly, negatively impacting the way U.S. companies and individuals transact business on the Net. IPv6 should be widespread in the United States by 2008. Other countries, however, will probably get there well ahead of that. And that could create problems for U.S. network users who don't have the latest technology.
