The FCC has voted to allocate $100 million of funding for rural broadband experiments, with $75 million allocated for higher-speed projects that can be delivered for support at the level contemplated for Phase II of the Connect America Fund (CAF), and the other $25 million for testing projects at somewhat lower speeds that are, however, still faster than the FCC's current definition of broadband.
