The motor trade generates quite a lot of radio and cassette player repair business, which usually has to be subcontracted out. You can make above average profits from this type of work. Colin J. Guy describes typical testing procedures and repairs, and how to get into and develop this side of the business. I have been repairing car radios for over twenty five years. In the early days most repairs were simple and straightforward. The odd vibrator (yes!) had to be changed, and Philips and Radiomobile hybrid models had to be converted from positive to negative earth. Later, those unreliable germanium audio output transistors had to be replaced.
