There is no shortage of technology roles in TV but they remain, largely, jobs for the boys. At an RTS early-evening event in late April, chaired by media science specialist Maggie Philbin, an expert panel offered some solutions to a serious problem - a lack of tech-savvy women - that affects not just TV but the UK economy as a whole. Women are grossly under-represented in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) sector [see top box, opposite].
