China's potential for rapid growth has captured the attention of the Western world. And, on the face of it, China's television sector should have particular appeal, with a viewing audience of over 1 billion, a three-fold leap in television advertising revenue between 1995 and 2005 and, to boot, a forecast national economic growth rate of 896 over the remainder of the decade. Furthermore, China's 300 million television sets are still largely receiving terrestrial analogue signals, and the digitisation of signals - currently scheduled for 2015 - should provide a further fillip to the market.
