The annual Dornbirn Man-made Fibres Congress (MFC) is scheduled to hold its 54th edition from September 16-18 this year. More than 100 specialised papers are to be presented at this event. They will cover the following subjects: 1. Fibre and filament innovations, (bio-) polymers 2. Functionalisation and adaptation of fibres and surfaces 3. Nonwovens/Filtration 4. Environment and health 5. Advanced fibre and processing technology The Austrian Manmade Fibres Institute is the organiser of this congress and under the direction of its manager DI Friedrich Weninger the Dornbirn MFC is to act increasingly as a generator of ideas and the basis for networking in the interest of the global fibre industry and its downstream manufacturing phases. Cooperation between the industry, academic institutions and trade associations will be further intensified. In this way the congress can not only enhance value creation that will benefit all players in the market, but it will also promote its international character while preserving its European heart and making sure that its emphasis on technology is maintained.
