The production of nonwovens that has expanded at a rapid pace in the past five years in China - the world's largest producer and consumer of the material - will continue at a similar pace in the next five years and keep lifting the annual production up at an average rate of more than 10% until 2020. By that time, China's annual output of nonwovens would have reached seven million tons - up 59% from the country's 2014 output. Such a forecast filled, unmistakably, with reassuring confidence, coming at a time when China is experiencing a climate of tempering rate of economic growth and declining investment in the sector could raise some eyebrows. However, it comes from the man who knows the inside of the industry, Li Linsheng, the president of China Nonwovens and Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA). And he made this forecast at an internationally important gathering, the fourth China International Nonwovens Forum in Shanghai. The Forum was part of the three-day (Oct 14-16) China International Nonwovens Expo & Forum (CiNE) held at the ShanghaiMart.
