The German specialty chemicals group Lanxess facing "significant challenges" is replacing its CEO and chairman of the board of management, Axel C. Heitmann, with its former chief financial officer Matthias Zachert who is currently CFO at Merck KGaA, the world's oldest pharmaceutical and chemical company.
