The Guangzhou-based Choice Easy Software has introduced a software called US Cotton Quality Retrieve APP for efficient and accurate assortment and allocation of cotton in Chinese spinning mills. Based on US national database for cotton, it is free for downloading for mobile phone application. The traditional cotton assortment and allocation process involves manually taking cotton samples in random order from imported bales for HVI (high volume instrument) testing. Many small and medium-sized factories without HVI testing equipment resort to tearing open bales and assorting cotton based on experience alone.
