Bayer MaterialScience has developed two new crosslinkers, one for the gentle coating of textiles, and another for heat-activated dispersion adhesives in the roll-to-roll bonding process. The polyurethane dispersion Imprafix 2794XP high-performance agent is for temperature-sensitive textile fibre, such as elastic polyamide fibres, which are used most frequently in swimwear and athletic attire, but also in outerwear, underwear, panty hose and shoes, while the polycarbodiimide crosslinker, Desmodur XP 2802 is for web-like substrates that need to be bonded together and quickly achieve high strength at the joint.
