Two popular seminars held during Premiere Vision Shanghai and Denim by Premiere Vision Asia on October 22-23 and attended by some 350 Chinese, Japanese and South Korean designers and buyers highlighted three main fashion, fabric and denim stories for 2014-15 autumn/winter sea- sons. For colours, blue and green are to define the trend along with pastel tones, delicates and wintry pales. There will also be multicolour disproportions as well as fruity reds. The first theme in the Trend Vision Shanghai seminar presented by the associate fashion director of Premiere Vision, Sabine le Chatelier, was called Manipulating. It was about voluminous matter closely associating technology and sensibility, connecting craft to digital, unique pieces to industrial production and sketching clothing as if it were sculpted, moulded or kneaded right from the fabric mass, creating silhouettes with volume. Humour and fantasy played a central role while street art was a real source of inspiration. Decoration was more narrative, and more singular. Fantasy will play an unconventional role in the design of pants, jackets, coats and suits.
