摘要

The use of pigments in textile products has increased significantly over the past 50 years. Pigment printing currently accounts for 45-60% of the textile printing done worldwide, covering apparel, home furnishing, crafts and non-woven articles. There are several reasons for this shift; the most important of them all are that pigments can be applied to almost any fibre or fibre blend, a large gamut of colour is available, pigment printing is simple and does not require complicated equipment, after-washing is not required if the printed fabrics are finished afterwards, the wide variety of binders and auxiliaries available enable printers to achieve almost any requisite fastness properties and, above all, consumer acceptance of pigments as quality colorants.
