There are signs that brand apparels, outdoor products, and home textiles will continue to experience growth which, in turn, will keep the demand for polyester filament yarns robust. Billion has plans to meet the rising demand. At the end of 2011, its production capacity for DTY was about 350,000 tons per yarn (TPY) and for FDY and POY some 475,000 TPY. Strong demand for apparel, footwear and home furnishing in China has helped one of the largest producers of polyester filament yarns in the country, the Billion Industrial Holdings, to lift its gross profit up by almost 110%, though its sales volume expanded by only a little over 4%.
