Drafting components and settings have a significant influence on yarn quality. In general it is found that decreasing the front top roller cots diameter decreases the yarn quality parameters — irregularity, imperfections, tenacity and elongation at break (%). Hence from a quality point of view, a larger front top cots diameter is better. Saddle gauge settings and front top cots hardness have no significant effect on yarn properties.
