ASTM International (formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials) has published a new test method, F2913-11, for evaluating the slip performance of footwear. It is derived from the UK-based SATRA Technology Centre's test method, TM144, and its corresponding test machine STM 603. , TM144 provides a comprehensive basis for the development and approval of footwear with respect to slip within the shoe industry.
