摘要

This study examines the benefits of using FRP composite materials made up of carbon, glass, aramid, nylon fabrics, etc. for seismic repair, retrofit, rehabilitation and strengthening of corroded steel columns, underwater piles, bridge piers, etc. A variety of structures of civil engineering for transport and other utilities come into existence through innovative ideas and technological updates. Long life of structure without loss of load-carrying capacity in columns and piles is a major concern in many structures. Structures suffer premature failure due to exposure to harsh environments.
