Uster Technologies has launched the latest version of the Classimat electronic system which it introduced in 1968 for yarn clearing and classifying. Classimat was created to detect, analyse and eliminate faults in the yarn and help winding machines to run at high efficiency. This latest version, Classimat-5, can, says Uster, "bring quality assurance to a new level". It enables a deeper understanding of defects and their causes and finds ways to prevent them. Classimat-5, says Uster's CEO, Geoffrey Scott, is more than a precision tool for producers and users of yarns; "it is also transforming the industry."
