Organised by the Austrian Man-Made Fibers Institute, the 51st Dornbirn MFC (Dornbirn Man-made Fibers Congress) was held at the Kulturhaus Dornbirn on September 19-21. More than 700 participants, representing some 200 international companies from 30 countries,including a sizeable delegation from Japan, attended it. Evidently, the congress has become an internationally significant event. An enlarged spectrum of lectures characterised this edition, with more than 100 lectures delivered. Speakers were mostly German and Swiss but there were also many from Japan, Spain and Portugal.
