The EU Parliament will vote in the near future most certainly in favour of labels on textile products showing their fibre content, geographic origin and non-textile parts of animal origin. That decision will discriminate products of non-EU origin in many ways. The European Parliament - which should in fact be named the EU Parliament because it represents only 26 of Europe's 50 sovereign nations including one Asian country, Cyprus, and 14 others that are either not fully recognised or with special political status - is again dealing with marking of textile products, fibre content marking, marking of geographic origin and the novelty for this season, marking of non-textile parts of animal origin.
