A new fabric that is both strong and soft enough for making sofas or for application in transport and automotive sectors has been introduced by the Belgium-based Microfibres, that is known for providing innovative textile solutions. This new product called Cavallo is made of a mixture of cotton and polyester. Microfibres says that Cavallo which is cleaning friendly, stain resistant, and over 100,000 Martindale runs cannot really be compared to any existing alternative in terms of care, because it achieves the maximum score. Microfibres' sales and marketing manager Robert Zwaak describes Cavallo as sublime and supple to the touch, as well as thick but easy to work with. Cavallo, he adds, is opening up a number of new markets for Microfibres. In short, its exceptional strength and soft- ness make it "extremely suitable for the contract market" and a choice for companies looking for leather's alternatives that stand up to comparison in terms of looks and character.
