Pakistan's chance of gaining GSP+ privilege in the European Union, the country's largest trade partner, remains still remote despite the nation's prime minister, Yousaf Raza Gillani's recent meeting in Brussels with the European Commission president, Jose Manuel Borroso. Pakistan has been trying for long for the privilege, and Mr Borroso said to have told Mr Gilani that GSP+ privileges can be accorded only under established terms and WTO rules preclude trade concessions to a single country.
