Chataweekij Corporation, the Thai licensee of the Crocodile garment brand, will lay out something like 100 million baht (roughly US$3 million) to purchase new machinery this year, and also will modify equipment in its Bangkok plant, hoping to raise its production capacity from 20,000 to 30,000 pieces/month. Local apparel makers in general seem to be stepping up investing and marketing as the economy improves and as new brands try to worm their way in on the back of the latest free trade agreement.
