People's Garment PLC, a gar-men tmaker of the Saha Group, is pioneering fabrics under a new label CoolMode which was created by the TTI (Thai Textile Institute) to encourage the production of environmentally-friendly clothing. The TTI, collaborating with the TGO (Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation), says that firms using appropriate materials and processes may sport the new label as a marketing tool. The basic idea, explains TTI executive director Virat Tandaechanurat, is that, if we can purchase garments which keep us cooler than those we wear today, we will be able to raise the temperature at which our air-conditioners operate.
