Thirty years ago this month, the Murata Machinery Ltd based in Kyoto, Japan, unveiled a new piece of equipment at the 8th international exhibition of textile machinery (ITMA-79) in Hanover, Germany. This item, the No.7-11 automatic winder with Mach Splicer, was the world's first automatic winder equipped with an air splicer for cotton. Its introduction led to the world textile industry enter the age of "knotless yarn." Mach Splicer using compressed air splices yarn without knots.
