The 40th edition of the Hong Kong Fashion Week for fall/ winter held in mid-January witnessed a spate of hybrid and cross over fashion statements by designers from far corners of the world. Indeed, an extravaganza filled with sparkling events The Hong Kong Trade Development Council, anticipating a rush of adrenalin over the financial crisis, took additional steps to raise the energy at Fashion Week held in mid-January and catered to a range of business and design needs for the fashion industry. All of the events were sparkling, some less well attended than could be hoped for in a different economic climate, and many brands were on display in the World Boutique to underline the importance of the differentiation process.
