The social part of the program dispensed with on May 19, Cotton Inc got straight to business with a series of presentations spread over three days and offered in the following topic areas: Inspiration (fashion), Insight (market intelligence) and Innovations (technologies). For the former, the product trend analyst of Cotton Inc, Jenna Caccavo revamped her Fall/Winter 2009/10 presentation (see Textile Asia, May 2008, page 69-70) and followed through with insights into the Spring/ Summer 2010 season. Mark Messura led the session on market issues and directions, the series being capped by Mike Tyndall and Skip Gordon who skimmed through the multitude of product and process innovations in Cary, North Carolina, USA, and elsewhere. Given that Cotton Inc's directive is to 'build the market through research and promotion' it is a relief in these roller coaster trade times that the fashion forecast service remains prominent, taking its lead from the New York context whilst incorporating elements of Zeitgeist worldwide.
