The European commission has launched a new market access strategy for creating new export opportunities for European products. EU business, says EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson, relies on growing markets abroad to fuel economic growth and jobs at home. "We need to ensure that European companies are able to compete fairly in those markets." Therefore, the new strategy, he says, focuses on coordinating and strengthening the work of the Commission, member states and business where it really mat-ters - on the ground in key markets.
