The IMB Forum scheduled for No vember 21-22, in Cologne will include for the first time a special section to research and development that will provide universities and colleges around the world an opportunity to present their research activities. Particular emphasis will be on innovation and new technology in the field of technical textiles. Seven institutions of higher learning in Portugal, Slovenia and China have already confirmed participation. Other participants include the Institute of Textiles and Clothing Technology from the Technical University of Dresden, which will be presenting a protective suit for work under high voltage as well as a selection of electrically conductive textiles. The TU Dresden stand will also showcase 3D-spacer fabric for use in water disinfection and workpiece holders for rotor-preform manufacturing.
