In response to demands for greater range of textile design and colour, printing technologies have been evolving at a rapid pace. These innovative developments were evident in the textile printing exhibits at ITMA 2003. These standard workhorses of wet printing technology were given new life with a number of important modifications. The Magnoprint machine from Zimmer showed how replacement of the hydraulic main drive with electronic drives enabled printing speeds of up to 35 m/min with a one-meter repeat (Fig. 1). With the Prima flat screen printing machine from Reggiani, the printing units automatically aligned themselves along the printing table according to the selected repeat and the necessary "Fractioning" to print with the established number of colours (Fig. 2).
