Held for the second time in Paris, Fil Event formed an integral part of Premiere Vision, in Hall 6 of the Villepinte Parc des Expositions. A spin-off show from Expofil, Fil Event was set up as a workshop to give visitors a first hand view of the latest developments in yarn trends and technology for weaving and circular knits, focusing particularly on autumn/winter 2004-05. Philippe Pasquet, Chairman, said that although the show was still in its launch phase, he was confident it will become a success eventually. "The concept is right, as shown by the results of the first session last September, but it takes several seasons for an event like this to become properly established in the textile calendar. And the economic situation at the moment in the European textile industry is particularly unfavourable."
