摘要

The market for technical textiles demands not only innovative products and manufacturing processes, but high and constant quality. For these purposes, the use of high performance fibres as well as of special textile structures is required. Fibres for the production of technical textiles are divided into high-tenacity fibres and fire-resistant fibres. Materials used for technical fibres are polyester, polyamide, glass and carbon. Yarns for technical applications must meet severe requirements are regards strength, elongation and structure. Depending on the requirements of the technical textiles different manufacturing processes are used, such as warp knitting, weaving and braiding. This includes the leno weaving process, whose products are employed in geo-tex-tiles and agricultural, construction and home textiles.
