I began my artistic life as a painter completing a fine arts diploma in Sydney. Through the course, I found myself drawn to the combination of dynamics I could achieve in combining medias. When I started dripping wax onto paintings I knew in the back of my mind there was a proper way to go about this. So I discovered the magic of encaustic at a workshop run by artist Sarah Mufford. I completely fell in love with this ancient technique and began researching it thoroughly buying every book I could find and scouring the internet. I found that it worked with all the things I love - painting, papers, fibres and photography.
