On 1, April 2008, Dr. Michael Fiedler took up his position as the new managing director of KARL MAYER Malimo Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, the subsidiary responsible for the technical textiles section of the renowned KARL MAYER Group, which has its head office in Obertshausen. Born in Zwickau in 1958, he completed a normal school education, and studied mechanical engineering during the first half of the 1980s at the Technical University of Chemnitz. Michael Fiedler subsequently became an assistant lecturer at this technical university, and was awarded a doctorate at the end of the eighties. Shortly afterwards, he moved into the industrial sector.
