Reliance Industries Limited's Hazira Manufacturing Division won the 'Golden Peacock Award for Combating Climate Change -2008' (GPACCC). The award was presented to RIL at a special gala awards event at the Global Convention on Climate Change held on May 30,2008 at Himachal Pradesh, by Shri Premkumar Dhunal, Chief Minister, HP and Mr. Ola Ulsten, Former Prime Minister of Sweden. Each year, the GPACCC is given to organizations that have set high standards and created benchmarks for combating climate change. RIL's Hazira Manufacturing Division won this prestigious award this year. Hazira won this acclaim for having made the most significant achievement and contribution to protect the health of the planet.
