RIL has embarked on a major shift in its growth strategy and was on the prowl for world-scale acquisitions during the current calendar year. RIL is seriously looking at overseas acquisitions in the range between US$ 15 billion to US$ 20 billion and these are likely to be oil and gas assets. The Reliance Group of India, headed by Mr Mukesh Ambani envisions itself to be a global energy major. The company has a current market capitalization of more than US$ 100 billion. Reliance Industries Ltd. Founder-Chairman Mr Dhirubhai H. Ambani realized his vision and dream by including not only shareholders and customers and employees but also the people of India. Its Chairman, Mr Mukesh D. Ambani has taken the Founder-Chairman's vision further by extending the scope of RIL's businesses into the next orbit, enabling it to include the entire nation in its story of growth. From textiles to oil and gas exploration and production, from being India's only private sector company to feature in the Fortune Global 500 list three years in a row to being part of the top 25 climbers in the same list, RIL has worked hard to make every Indian proud.
