30 June 2003 will certainly go down as a major watershed tor WRONZ (Inc). After 40 years oi faithfully serving the New Zealand wool industry, using the Research Association model, the Board resolved that the operations of WKONZ (Inc.) should be separated into a commercial company structure from 1 July 2003 and this has now happened. WRONZ (Inc.) has held, and will continue to hold on behalf of the industry, very substantial assets which have been built up since its Inception. These assets have not been distributed as part of the process of reforming the Incorporated Society. They will continue to be held by the Incorporated Society and used to fund 'industry good' R&D relating to the utilization of wool.
