The past couple of years have been substantial modernization and expansion of the Indian textile and apparel industry to strengthen its competitiveness in the globalized trade. This has yielded some good results in boosting the exports of these items. However, as far as the utilization of IT to link up its production managing of multiple operations and meeting the demand of a smooth and uninterrupted supply Chain So helpful in improving efficiency and reducing costs is concerned the progress has been quite slow.
