Operating profit of a spinning mill is contribution less stores cost and administrative overheads, the contribution being yarn sales revenue minus the sum of raw material cost, salaries and wages cost and power cost. There are a number of factors such as product mix, commercial efficiency, labour and machine productivity, wage rate and power cost that determine the contribution earned by a mill.
