The apparel sector has witnessed a phenomenal growth in the last decade and is growing at a rate of over 10% per annum. In recent years, apparels have become important export items of the country in terms of volume, value and foreign exchange realization. Today Indian apparel sector is accounting for almost, 50% of India's total textile & clothing exports. The readymade garment industry employs a large number of people and plays an important role in export oriented job creation.
