ITMA, the Olympics for the global textile industry, will be held during June 20-26 at Barcelona. The exhibition will feature over 1,700 exhibitors who will be showcasing their latest technologies and sustainable solutions for the entire textile and garment manufacturing value chain, as well as fibres, yarns and fabrics. ITMA has a 68-year history of displaying the latest technology for every single work process of textile and garment making. It is held every four years at different locations in Europe. The increasingly high level of automation and digitisation in combination with real time data tracking and interconnection has spawned the 4th industrial revolution and the emergence of smart factories. The theme for ITMA 2019 is 'Innovating the World of Textiles'. It is truly the launch pad for future technologies in textile manufacturing. At ITMA 2019, more than 180 Indian textile machinery and component manufacturers will be exhibiting their latest products. India has been playing a very important role in the global textile industry. This is quite obvious in the number of visitors who attend the show. ITMA 2015 witnessed the largest contingent from India with more 1 0,000 business visitors attending the show. ITMA 2019 is expected to set fresh records in terms of visitors from India and other major Asian markets.
