Saurer claims its Hamel Tritec twister sets new standards with respect to production output, flexibility, twist quality and efficiency. The idea of combining the two proven twisting techniques - two-for-one and the pot twisting process - has, says the firm, resulted in this high level of performance. For the first time it is possible to produce ply yarns at very high production speeds together with very low thread tension. The ambient air boundary layer rotates with the cylinders of the Tritec spindle and provides the best possible conditions for the yarn even at high speeds, nearly as effective as twisting in a vacuum. The result is that the yarn is treated with the greatest possible care during twisting. As is well known, twisting is an improving finishing process - the TritecTwister therefore ensures that the feed material is not damaged by air friction.
