If unity really does give strength, then Duesseldorf is set to face the strongest CRD buying season of the recent past. With The Gallery Duesseldorf, Supreme Women & Men and the DATE, three fairs and over 800 showrooms form the heart of fashion power on the Rhine. The GDS, Global Destination for Shoes and Accessories, has skilfully flanged on and extends the ordering activity into August. On three subsequent days, fashion shows lure the audience into an old factory right in the middle of fashionable district Bilk. Without a dominator, without a self-publicist: the star is the city. This time, the fairs convey the important news. It was all sparked off by the Premium leaving Duesseldorf. As logical as the focus on Berlin and Munich from the view of fair boss Anita Tillmann was -with her adieu a Duesseldorf, she left behind a lot of free space for the remaining fairs. On the one hand, this enabled the Igedo to grow with the Gallery Duesseldorf (on this subject, also see the interview with Ulrike Kahler on pages 22 f). Without further ado, the 'Hammer Hallen' were taken over, and the 'Red Carpet' was again widened for the festive and evening fashion in the 'Rheinlandsaal' of the Hilton Hotel.
