In 1991 Doris Megger, living in Meerbusch and having learnt her job from scratch, opened retail stores in Monchengladbach and Jiilich. She has devoted herself to plus size fashion. 2003 saw the Emsland-born graduate clothing engineer move to the NRW capital Dusseldorf, where she became self-employed with her flagship store "Curvesstyle". Today 16 people are employed there. After having first only sold other labels, she now sells up to 90 per cent her own collection 'Doris Megger' and the younger line 'Cake & Candy'; the remaining 10 per cent include labels like Sallie Sahne.
