Since Pope Benedict XVI presented himself on St. Peter's Square in Rome after his inauguration in 2005 in his red leather shoes, all of Italy is lost in speculation: does the Pope really wear Prada? No. After over three years the Vatican has in the meantime officially denied the rumour. The Papal shoes are produced by a shoe maker from the Italian city Novara -cost free. His name is Adriano Stefanelli and his handworked shoes are also worn by the Russian Patriarch Alexius 11, Ferrari-boss Luca de Montezemolo and Lech Walesa.%Seit sich Papst Benedikt XVI nach seiner Amtseinführung 2005 auf dem Petersplatz in Rom in seinen roten Lederschuhen präsentiert hatte, spekulierte ganz Italien: Trägt der Papst wirklich Prada?
