Summer 2009 is kicking off with the shout No big surprises! The themes threading through almost all collections as obligatory general looks, were distinctly defined, intensely discussed, checked over suitable for shops beforehand and confirmed in the first test models. Both industry and retail are shunning experiments. The plan is risk minimising. Despite all care and an increasingly greater, sometimes perhaps too great market vicinity, at least in the period of creation, all the same there are styles and shapes which are reduced, pragmatic, nonchalantly natural and are compellingly modern for all their unob-trusiveness. They breathe due to the quality of materials, subtle colour and distinct lines. Even stronger colours keep up the understatement pretence in combination with neutrals and darks. Already winter clearly demonstrated this look's sustainability in the upper genre. Summer smoothly connects to this high plane and opens up a feminine casualy style trend which steps up even more consistently and naturally due to material lightness. Also casualy androgyny comes along more nonchalant and flowing for summer. On the one hand this is due to the lightweight materials, on the other also to the easy lightness of how these fashion images are being approached and translated.
