The effects of humidity on the drying rates of carpet tile depend on both gas stream temperature and flow rate, and are much larger in the warm-up and constant rate periods than in the falling rate period. The existence of inversion temperatures is investigated for carpet tile drying. For a given flow condition, an inversion temperature is the temperature at which the drying rate in a superheated steam environment equals that in air. Inversion temperatures are 177℃ and 214℃ for the low flow and high flow conditions of this study, respectively.
