Dye-Surfactant Interactions Studied Using Job's Method

摘要

Interactions between the anionic dye Acid Orange 7 and two cationic surfactants N-cetylpyridinium choloride (CPC1) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMABr) in aquweous solutions far below the CMC are studied using the mehod of continuosu cariations, also called Job's method. Lighe absorbance in the visible spectral rnge is measrued. Both surfactants form stabel associates with the acid dye. Job's method is suitable for determining the stoichiometric composition and equilibrium association constants of the associates studied.
